Distance Stitch Diploma, Module 6, Chapter 3 - Transform and Personalise

Rust always gives beautful natural patterns. I used pieces of pipe, keys, locks and hinges to make some very pleasing marks.

Rusty pipes.

16

Rusty bolts, hinges and locks.

17
Small items, including keys.

18

The mashed potato experiment didn't work out as I expected, as it dried and curled up on the fabric.

19

I persevered and coloured the fabric with Brusho inks and there was more 'resist' than I was expecting.

20

Wax resist and Brusho ink, not very exciting.

21

Permanganate Shibori style - didn't work, I should have made a paste. I was uncomfortable working with this chemical. There were too many hazard warnings on the bottle!

22

Discharged with lemon juice, far too random for me.

23

Egg tempura and Brusho inks - loved it!

24

Egg tempura showing transparency - loved it!

25

Xpanda print on fabric, not a great successs.

I thought the egg tempura was wonderful. I loved the transparency of it, I think the effect is amazing.
