I have come to the conclusion that Devoré is not my thing! I love Devoré scarves and have several but I found controlling the paste very difficult!

Blanket stitch in thick wool on satin mix fabric. Paste applied with a brush.

The protected pattern shows but the paste has discoloured the fabric.

I decided to use a commercial template to see if this would get a better result.

White velvet - the paste has worked in places but it was very difficult to control.

Using a commercial stencil, this attempt on velvet was better.

Again using a commercial stencil, on pure cotton, the whole fabric was eaten away so I outlined the shape with a pen.

This is a polyester/cotton mix, with the paste applied with a brush. The lighter marks are only visible if the fabric has a strong light behind it.
Not my favourite chapter!
