I decided to draw out the designs I had chosen into my sketchbook first, before creating them in paper. I used one example from The Book of Kells and the rest came from books on decorated lettering. I looked at a small sample of the decoration and isolated it into a design of its own.

I particularly like the two designs on page 23 and spiralling circles on page 22. They were all tricky to create but the perseverance was worth it!
