C&G Certificate Module 4, Chapter 7 - To Apply Paper Pulp to a Woven Fabric Grid

I really enjoyed this chapter and was very pleased with the results.

I came across making paper from fruit and vegetables in a book I bought on handmade paper. So far, I have made paper from beetroot, lemon, cucumber and carrot. When held up to the light the papers look like stained glass.

It took a week to press out all the moisture. When the 'papers' were completely dry I painted them with acrylic wax.  I made the papers six weeks ago and so far there has not been any sign of deterioration. I was concerned about putting the wet pulp over the lemon paper but it has dried out well and shows no signs of disintegration.  I have the germ of any idea for using vegetable papers as part of my assessment piece but it is still work in progress at the moment.

Waste not, want not! I used the withdrawn threads to make two pieces of paper, using tissue pulp. The pulp has been applied to both sides of the threads and the buried threads give a lovely texture to the paper.
